Individual Therapy
Modern Living Room

Conquer Trauma Counselling offers individual therapy sessions to help clients address personal challenges, manage stress, and overcome anxiety or trauma. Our approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, providing a safe and supportive space for personal growth and healing. This can be done in person or virtually!

We offer counselling for both youth and adults. We create a non-judgmental and caring space for teens and youth to explore their anxiety, fears, stress and trauma. Our goal is to provide you with a safe space where we can work together on strategies for managing these challenges.

What to Expect:

  1. Talk About It: In EMDR, we will discuss what happened. This might be a difficult memory or feeling. History taking is an important step.

  2. Follow the Movements: While you’re talking, you’ll also do something called “bilateral stimulation.” This means moving your eyes back and forth, like following someone’s finger, or sometimes listening to sounds that go from one ear to the other. This is similar to what we do in a sleep stage called 'REM' sleep.

  3. Feel Better: This process helps your brain sort through those memories, making them feel less overwhelming. Over time, you may find that you don’t feel as upset when you think about those experiences.

Why is EMDR Helpful?

EMDR can help you process feelings and thoughts that are stuck, making it easier to deal with stress, anxiety, or trauma. Many people find it helps them feel more like themselves again.

Our counsellor is trained in Canada with EMDRIA.

Curious to try something different? We are trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It has been around for over 30 years. EMDR is a type of therapy that helps people who have gone through tough or scary experiences. It’s like a special way to help your brain heal from those experiences.
